Jace
August 2017
Jace, our senior from Korea, went to his perfect furever home on May 25, 2017. Me, his foster Mom, had actually had plans to keep him because I had fallen in love. But then a miracle happened. You see Jace is sort of a special needs older guy. He was having issues trying to get out the dog door and would have accidents in the house. It was not a behavior issue but an ability issue. Not knowing anything about that, this lovely family applied for Jace. We had 7 senior collies needing homes, but they insisted on Jace. During my interview with them I found out that they had a special dog door they had designed for their elderly sheltie who had passed. That dog door and learning just how committed they are to their dogs, I knew it was collie magic and Jace belonged with them. I miss Jace very much but I get to visit him anytime! Which I have and found that he is very happy and loved. He is also a hit in their dog friendly neighborhood. Everywhere Jace goes he has a fan club. Thank you Ibarra family for loving him as much as I do.
Twilight was adopted on June 22, 2017. Her new Mom and Dad met her at our rescue booth at the Highland Scottish Games. I noticed this nice couple kept coming back all day long to visit Twilight. I wondered, so I asked. Are you interested in adopting? They showed me a picture of their collie who had passed away 18 months pryor. It was amaizing how much they look alike. Bruce and Nancy were still grieving and were not really looking for another collie just yet, but was this fait? Again collie magic at work. What were the odds that they would go to the Scottish games and come across a collie that looks just like there's that was available for adoption? One that could help them through their grief so they could love again? Twilight is a senior girl of 9. She is incontinent, had been shaved. None of that mattered to Bruce and Nancy. This sweet girl hit the jackpot and so did her new Mom and Dad.
